The EU’s IDABC Programme has just released the ‘EU public licence’ (EUPL), a draft open source software license designed to provide legal certainty for software owners and users in the European context. The aim of the EUPL is to encourage public administrations throughout Europe to publish the software applications they develop and that could be used by others. The draft EUPL is available at:

All interested parties are now invited to join the online discussions on the EUPL at the eGovernment Observatory’s forum. Comments regarding the principle of a European open source software licence and the specific wording of the draft text are particularly welcome.

La aparición de la versión 3.1 de Debian no ha estado libre de polémica al presentarse horas después una actualización con el fin de solventar un fallo relativo a la configuración de seguridad.
Según un breve artículo aparecido en la revista PCWorld (pagina 60) correspondiente a los meses de Julio/Agosto, las versiones de Debian 3.1 instaladas desde CD o DVD no incluyen la URL correcta en la lista de las fuentes para actualizaciones de seguridad. Este problema puede solventarse editando el archivo /etc/apt/sources.list

Las instalaciones que se realizan desde disquetes o desde la propia red no están afectadas por este error.
